The other day it was ’80s night at the Staples Center as the Lakers took on the Celtics in those throwback uniforms that everyone seems to like. I’ll tell you that in no case I like the throwback uniform, I just ask why uniforms were changed at all. Try and tell me that the Yankees or Nittany Lions don’t have a few of the best uniforms in sports. However, in the case of the Lakers the other night, they went all the way with their taste of the past. I have been waiting for a long time or since the retirement of John Stockton to see someone break out the short shorts of yesteryear. The men from Hollywood did just this and finally made a fashion statement in honoring their hard court forefathers. I just think they should have gotten a little more publicity for it, cause this took some major brass. Luckily for the Lakers, John Amaechi was not in attendence.
