If you are asking yourself, who is Jemele Hill, I don’t blame you because she is pretty forgettable in every way except for her constant attention grabbing statements. She almost prides herself in creating controversy where there should be none, aka calling the LeBron James Vogue cover racist, but yesterday she might have gone one step too far. I came across a Jay Posner article while on AwfulAnnouncing.com that criticized a Hill comment that came while filling in for the biggest d-bag on the planet, Jim Rome, on Rome is Burning.
She said, “There are no reports to back this up, but I’m betting – and by betting I mean hoping – that whoever set that Benz ablaze busted out in that ridiculous sack dance just as the flames were starting to run rampant over the upholstery. Karma is reponsible for this. Merriman got his sled ripped and barbecued because he can’t make a play without making a fool of himself, and people just aren’t feeling it.”
You know Jemele, good thing no one knows who you are or you would be the one coming under fire right now. Just think about what you said, you are praising the robbery of an NFL player months after another NFL player was and killed in a botched robbery. I hate dances and outspokeness more than many, but there are a few subjects that are off limits. This was a terrible circumstance to pile on, and “I’m betting – and by betting I mean hoping” that you are slowly pushed off the air, not for the comment, for just being terrible.
