jonathancoachman1ce9.jpgAwful Announcing says that Johnathan Coachman of WWE Smackdown fame will be leaving the federation to take a job as an anchor on ESPN. Personally, I was a big fan of Coachman on Smackdown as he became a part of the action and it was easy for them to make him look like a jackass. I’ve always thought that SportsCenter should include some WWE coverage, so I’m hoping that this could be the start of a revolution. Coachman did some regular sports work before joining the WWE and seems to be kind of legitimate, although he was a sideline reporter for the XFL. I know this isn’t the first time that someone has made the jump. The best radio personality in the country, on ESPN1250, the super-genius, Mark Madden spent time as an announcer for WCW. This translated incredibly to the radio as he adds more excitement to a broadcast than anyone else. Maybe, Coach can do the same as an anchor because the catch phrases are getting pretty old, except for this line from Scott Van Pelt.
