I am a t-shirt connoisseur who has been collecting more “Sucks and Swallows” t-shirts than I know what do do with (starting with the timeless phrase Dallas Sucks, Jerry Jones Swallows). However, I am definitely more likely to wear a clever t-shirt such as the one that states “Jeter Drinks Wine coolers.” Here a couple over the top ones involving Mike Tomlin that will definitely stand the test of time, unlike this one which won’t make sense in 8 years.

I went to game 1 of the Yankees-Sox yesterday afternoon and not only was a treated to seeing Johnny Pesky number hung in right field, but I also got to see Dominic Chianese, Uncle Junior from the Sopranos, sing one of the best versions of the national anthem I have ever heard. This comes days after Chianese made a play to sing at the final game in Yankee Stadium. They denined his request, but Fenway brass was more than happy to bring in the Bronx native. I couldn’t find the video from yesterday, so let me know if you see it anywhere. So what made his version so good? He sang with more enthusiasm than a 13 year old watching a sybian ride for the first time on Howard TV. Anyway, here is a video from the NY Post about his situation with the pinstripes.

Alex Rodriguez and Jose Canseco are two men who differ in many ways. One is at the height of his playing career, while the other is broke and embroiled in a post-career controversy. One is a Hall of Fame bound superstar, while the other is struggling to stay onÂ reality tv. One plays for the Yankees, while the other last played for the Long Beach Armada. However, with all of these differences itâ€™s tough to overlook the apparent similarities between two men at each end of the baseball consciousness:

A-Rod and Canseco both grew up and played high school baseball in the Miami are before being drafted out of high school. Rodriguez was a highly touted prospect, but both went on to join the 40-40 club of which only four men are members. While both are members of this exclusive fraternity, one cannot overlook the best remembered highlights of their respective careers.

Now, the two have one more thing in common, an obvious relationship with Madonna in which both are denying having sex. Madonna has proven over the years to be more of a nympho than Heather Graham in Boogie Nights.

So, the lack of posts is do to a lot of laziness and the fact that I will be heading down to the cathedral that is Yankee Stadium tomorrow to catch the first game of the subway doubleheader with the Mets. This will be my first trip to Yankee Stadium so I’mÂ about as pumped as Kobe was to win a BET Award. Anyway, I think it’ll be a great time to see some true baseball history because I’m a baseball nerd like that, and I’ll be sure to get some pictures of Yankee fans going off on Mets fans some apparent reason that no one is aware of.

The other thing I wanted to mention was that last night on the Shot at Love 2 Reunion special, Sirbrina confirmed the news on the air that I broke weeks ago.

Hank Steinbrenner Will Soon Be Quoting Himself

Newsday is reporting that with the new version of the Sporting News, a column will debut featuring the infamous Hank Seinbrenner. Little Stein has already made a name for himself among the media with a variety of ranging discussions of Red Sox nation to whether or not Joba should be starting. He’ll be starting in September, just in time for the playoffs and will write about once a month. It’ll defintely be a good read, here’s one column possibility:

I Thought this was America -Â based around revenue sharing and the luxury tax and will include him calling other teams poor and declaring the MLB to be communist.

Update: Thanks to Frank Coffey from etruesports.com for showing me I’m not the only one guessing what might be the next thing out of Hank’s mouth. It turns out that we are thinking surprisingly similar.

Minka, What Are You Doing?

I caught this link coming through si.com’s HotClicks. It’s a Page 6 article breaking news that the herp king is looking to give Valtrex a little more business. Minka Kelly of Friday Night Lights, the best show on television, reportedly had dinner with the Yankee captain on Monday. Get out of this before it’s too late Minka, and remember what you junior high health teacher taught you about STDs before you’re just another branch on the tree.
